Slow week

I just wanted to apologize for no new posts this week. Logan and I have felt pretty crappy this week, due to yucky colds. But we are now starting to get better, and today actually ventured out of the house for a few errands. Hopefully it will skip over Clyde.

Clyde did get to do something fun this week. Tuesday night, his boss and a few others got tickets to go to the Grand Ole Opry. They also got backstage passes, which I am extremely jealous about. He met & shook hands with big Country stars such as Trace Adkins, Diamond Rio, and a few others. He had fun for a guy who isn't that big of a fan of Country music. Sorry no pictures though, he left the camera at home.

Anyway, Hopefully this weekend we will do something entertaining with some cute pictures. We are still here though I promise!!

Birthday Party and Colds

Well this weekend was interesting. On Saturday, we drove down to Decatur to celebrate Lyndsey (our neice) first birthday. She had a pool party at her grandmother's house. We began the event with food, and then Lyndsey opened all her presents. After that she attacked her cake, and when I say attacked I mean demolished. There was absolutely no cake left!! We then cleaned off and everyone went swimming. Logan had a blast swimming with Grandma, Grandpa and Daddy. We finally had to drag him out of the pool. Lets just say he was one tired boy on the way home (even though he only slept for 20 min). I wish I had some pictures but we left the camera in the car, and both Clyde and I were too lazy to walk out and get it. It was a fun party though!

As for the rest of the weekend, our house was a sick house. Logan and I woke up Sunday morning with colds. Thankfully Clyde was home to help us out. Logan seems to be feeling better today, but mommy is still a little icky.

Adventure Science Center

Today Logan and I went to the Adventure Science Center in Nashville. For those of you that cant believe it, Yes I drove to Nashville :) It was suppose to be a huge Mom's Club event, but ended up being just Alisha and I, which was great. Logan loved every minute of it and we ended up staying for 3 hours. It was incredibily busy but that didn't seem to bother Logan at all. We had a blast and stayed way longer than I was expecting. This building includes 3 floors and a lot of stuff, so I am only including some pictures of Logan's favorite parts.

Here are some pictures of Logan in the toddler room, which was our first and last stop. In the toddler room, they had a lifesize bulldozer with tons of plastic balls, a train table, a magnet board, legos, and lots of things the kids could climb on.

The train table & playing with the legos

The giant ball pit/ bulldozer

After we left the toddler room we moved to the rest of the center. It was huge, and full of so many wonderful things. Logans favorite parts were the musical piano, the flying balls, and the entire section dedicated to body parts/body functions. You can only imagine some of the noises we heard:)

The rest of the trip was spent up in the Body section. THis included a brain you could walk through, the intestines (which was a slide) and a wonderful life size ambulence (which Logan loved). .
Playing and Driving in the Ambulance- we had a tantrum when it was time to move on.

And last but not least I tried to get a picture of Logan and I in the museum, and he would not slow down for a second- so this is the best I could get. (He is holding two magnets from the Magnet wall in the toddler room.

Race for the Cure

Yep I am doing it again this year. If you have never heard of the Race For the Cure, it is a 5k run/walk for Breast Cancer. It is located in downtown Nashville, and this will be my 2nd year participating. The race is going to be a month earlier, and will be held on October 4th. I will be walking with some other moms from my mom's club. We walk in support of a fellow member who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

Last year my neighbor, Alisha, had the crazy idea that we were going to try to run in the race this year. Well we are still going to try, but I have a feeling it will be a walk/run combination. So if you would like to donate any money towards a wonderful cause, follow the link on the right side of the page. Wish us luck!!

New Trick

Logan realized this past weekend that he has a tounge. He was pretty impressed when daddy showed him how to stick out his tounge. He worked on it and worked on it for a few days, before he finally figured out how to stick his own tounge out. So now he does it all the time. The funny thing is the face he makes when he is sticking out his tounge. I finally caught it on camera- hope you enjoy

Logan's New Hat

Logan loves to put things on his head, and this night was no exception. He was playing around with a tupperware container. I got the strange idea to put it on his head, which started a whole new adventure.

My new haircut/style

Yep. I finally did it. After talking about it for so long, I finally talked myself into getting my hair colored. I went down to Alabama for a visit w/ my mom and decided to make an appointment with Johna. She is the lady who has cut my hair since we moved back.

I wasn't sure what I wanted but I did know that I wanted something different. Well after 2 hours of sitting in the chair, getting highlights, my hair colored, cut and styled. I am please to report I love it. Now I will just have to go home more often.

The new look.

Arrington Vineyards

Have you ever heard of a winery in middle Tennessee? I didn't either, until we were invited to go to one a few weeks back. This vineyard is a small but beautiful vineyard located off of Interstate 840. It is owned by Kix Brooks, of the country group Brooks and Dunn. On the weekends, they have a free event called Music at the Vines. You are welcome to bring your picnic basket, and enjoy friends and family over music and wine.

Several of my friends, from the Mom's Club, decided to get together for a Night out at the vines. Even though it was extremely hot, we packed our bubbles, blankets, and food and enjoyed a night out. It was a wonderful night for all involved. It will definitely happen again, maybe when it is a little cooler though.
